Licence in 2 phases?
The driver’s license is not passed at once anymore. Before receiving his final license, the new driver must acquire some driving experience and realize the consequences that his road behavior can have on traffic safety. Additional training complements learning to drive.
This training only needs to be taken once for categories A, A 35kw and B.
First phase
Below is a brief summary of the route to acquire the test driving license for cars (category B).
First Aid – take an accredited course
Theory – prepare for and pass the theory exam
Student Driver licence – file an official request
Compulsory theory course – take the theory course
Driving – take driving lessons
Exam – take the practical exam
Second phase
In the following year, you will need to make an appointment with a center approved by the Swiss Road Safety Council (CSR).
Training – take the development day course
- Probation – probation period without serious offense
Licence – final licence application
